I Ching calendar

The 64 hexagrams of the I Ching are associated with specific dates in the Chinese calendar. So, in certain readings, the dates connected to the response hexagrams could be the most important information obtained from casting the change.
Four of the hexagrams cover a 3 month period and the rest apply to 5 or 6 days of the lunar year depending on the month, since some have 29 days and others have 30.
Each year at Chinese New Year, I prepare my I Ching calendar so that I know which hexagrams aplly to which days. I've gotten feedback from clients telling me that the dates I gave them when I interpreted their changes for them were right on. In some cases, you can phrase your query so as to ask the "when" question and get an answer about the timing of the next changes in a specific domain. I could post the master chart online if there is interest.

This sound cool. How is it set to the Chinese calendar? I made a I ching calendar based on Terrence McKenna's Time Wave Zero. I used his calculations and counted backwards from the end date. There is a hexagram for the day, 6 days, and 384 days. I don't know if it matches up with your calendar, or his for that matter, but it seams to work well with what I see happening around me. I would like to see yours.

    me too!
    • After far too long a delay, I have posted the I Ching calendar for the year of the Earth Rat. You'll find a link to the file on my blog. Later today, I hope to post a file that lists the equivalences between the 8 trigrams and the musical chords they create in the key of C.

Musicians should take a peek at it. Now you can put a soundtrack to your divination sessions. I've found that the 2 chord equivalences of my name Li K'an -- fire Pig -- are 2 of my favourite chords -- the major 7th and minor 7th. Check it out -- give feedback if desired.
